McMurry Design Lab is the research and experimental design practice of Dean McMurry, exploring the intersection of architecture, ecology, computation, and fabrication. Building on a background in architectural practice, digital fabrication, and design research, the Lab uses prototyping as a way to investigate new materials, processes, and relationships between built and natural systems. Current work ranges from digitally fabricated architectural components and prototypes to research into coastal resilience, biodiversity, and living infrastructure. The Lab serves as a space for ideas to move between research and application, through making, testing, iteration, and collaboration.
